On May 27–28, 2025, Agtech Sweden took part in AgriVenture Finland – a major Nordic event focused on agricultural innovation, sustainability, and technology. The event was held at the Bioeconomy Campus in Saarijärvi, Finland, and gathered over 500 participants from 20 countries, including farmers, startups, researchers, and investors.

Karolina Muhrman and Per Frankelius represented Agtech Sweden and were invited to give two presentations. One was a keynote titled “How to Succeed in Agtech Innovation – Learning Points from Sweden”, and the other was part of the Swedish-language program, called “Growing Through Internationalisation – Lessons from Agtech Sweden.”

“What fantastic days we’ve had in Finland! The level of innovation and energy at AgriVenture was truly inspiring,” said Karolina Muhrman. “From high-level keynotes and field demonstrations to relaxed networking by the lakeside – this was a well-balanced and meaningful event.”

Highlights from the Event

The program included presentations, workshops, pitch competitions, hackaton and live demonstrations of the latest farming technology. One example was the AgXeed field robot, which can work in the field fully autonomously.

Another example was Spogen.ai, which had developed a system that allows you to verbally ask the computer in a tractor how to, for example connect the hydraulic hoses correctly, or set the sowing depth to a specific depth. The computer responds in the language you have chosen. The concept had its world premiere in combination with a Valtra tractor and a Väderstad Spirit seed drill. Imagine what AI can achieve! Still one example was PerPlant from Denmark, that provide a sensor for weed detection on the go. We also must mention the hydrogen engine from AGCO Power. Video interviews with some of these will be published later on Agtech Sweden’s website.

The three main themes of the event were:

  • Data-driven agriculture – using digital tools and data to improve farming.
  • Business and productivity – helping farmers work more efficiently and sustainably.
  • Reducing CO₂ emissions – with methods for more climate-friendly food production.

“We also talked about the Knowledge Hub for the Digitalisation of Agriculture, which is an important part of what we do to spread knowledge about technology” said Karolina Muhrman.

More than just talks

In addition to all the professional activities, the event included time for informal networking – including a dinner with dancing at a beautiful lakeside spot in the Finnish countryside. The event ended with a fascinating visit to the Valtra tractor factory, where attendees saw the full process of how tractors are made.

“The factory tour was a real highlight,” said Karolina Muhrman. “It gave us valuable insights into how advanced modern agricultural manufacturing has become.”

A big thank you

Agtech Sweden would like to thank the organizers – JAMK University of Applied Sciences and Bioeconomy Campus – for a well-organized and welcoming event. Special thanks to Minna Lappalainen, Minna Silvennoinen, Hannu Haapala, Mikko Ahonen, Sirpa Hukari, Olli Väänänen, and Annimari Lehtomäki for their hospitality and meaningful conversations.

“Events like this strengthen collaboration across borders and give us all new ideas for the future,” said Karolina Muhrman and Per Frankelius.
